Wescom welcomes Michael Cederbaum as VP of Partner Development

Wescom Credit Union is excited to share that it has recently welcomed Michael Cederbaum to its senior leadership bench. Mike, in his new role as Vice President of Partner Development at the Credit Union, will focus on leading Wescom’s two key strategic partnerships with UCLA and Knott’s Berry Farm, Community Engagement and overseeing the Wescom Foundation.

“We’re thrilled to have Mike join our team. His experience in building brands through sports and entertainment partnerships will help Wescom continue to create value to the UCLA community of students, faculty/staff and alumni. And he’s joined us at the perfect time to help shape our new strategic partnership with Knott’s Berry Farm,” commented Ashley White, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer at Wescom.

With a sports and business background, Mike is the perfect fit for the VP of Partner Development position at Wescom, supporting and driving awareness and engagement around community-focused events and promotions:

  • A one-time walk-on athlete, he has a first-hand understanding of the student-athlete life and the delicate balancing act of sports and academics.
  • With more than a decade in sports and entertainment marketing, most recently as Vice President at 160over90, a cultural marketing agency, he set sponsorship and marketing strategies, identified and negotiated deals and led multiple agencies to create integrated marketing campaigns that leveraged traditional, social, mobile and digital platforms to amplify partnerships.
  • Being a native Angeleno and having received his MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, he’s already familiar with the “home turf” of Wescom’s two strategic partnerships and is a Bruin through-and-through.

He started his professional career, however, in a very different arena altogether - healthcare. He served as a Financial Analyst at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the department of Hematology-Oncology. Recently, he remarked that his career has come full circle as he participated in a CHLA blood drive sponsored by Wescom and First City Credit Union which took place at the Rose Bowl Stadium.

Mike, a passionate and results-driven leader, is diving into his role with Wescom and getting to know the local communities Wescom proudly serves, participating in various Partner Development department events, such as a financial wellness seminar called “Bite of Reality,” as well as UCLA Volunteer Day sponsored by the Wescom Foundation.

Interested in learning more about Mike’s move to Wescom and/or his plans for the Credit Union’s partnerships moving into 2025? I’m more than happy to connect you.
