Vermont Federal Credit Union makes $10,000 donation to support Vermont Main Street Flood Recovery Fund
BURLINGTON, VT (August 14, 2023) —
Vermont Federal Credit Union (VFCU) is proud to announce its commitment to helping the communities affected by recent flooding in the state by pledging a $10,000 donation to the Vermont Main Street Flood Recovery Fund. The fund, established in partnership with local authorities and community organizations, will provide grants to small business owners impacted by the July 10th flood to cover costs such as equipment replacement, supplies, and help with clean-up.
The heavy rainfall and ensuing floods that struck various parts of Vermont caused significant damage to infrastructure, businesses, and homes, leaving many in dire need of aid. Vermont Federal Credit Union recognizes the importance of coming together as a community during challenging times and is eager to extend a helping hand to those affected.
“We stand with our neighbors and friends who have been affected by the recent floods,” said Jean Giard, president and CEO at Vermont Federal Credit Union. “As a community-focused financial institution, we believe in supporting the well-being of our members and the communities we serve. This donation is an expression of our commitment to providing timely assistance to those in need. “
Vermont Federal Credit Union has a long history of community engagement and philanthropy, and this donation reaffirms its dedication to being a responsible corporate citizen. By collaborating with the Vermont Main Street Flood Recovery Fund, the credit union aims to support the recovery efforts of local businesses that experienced damage to their facilities, equipment, and inventory, enabling them to rebuild and resume operations.
“Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the floods, and we hope that our contribution to the Main Street Flood Recovery Fund will help provide some measure of relief and assistance,” added Giard. “We are inspired by the resilience of Vermonters and are confident that, together, we can overcome this challenge and rebuild stronger than ever.”
The Credit Union remains committed to serving its members and the community at large, not only during times of crisis, but throughout all stages of life.
