Veridian Credit Union unveils public display of Ankeny student art

ANKENY, IA (February 13, 2015) -- Select art students from Ankeny’s three high schools celebrated the public display of their work at Veridian Credit Union’s annual ArtShare Premiere on Thursday, February 12. ArtShare features an annual collection of art created by local high school students. The pieces were selected by the art teachers and prepared for public display in Veridian’s branch at 1201 Ankeny Blvd. in Ankeny, where they remain on display throughout the year.

The 2015 Ankeny ArtShare collection is made up of 35 original works ranging from digital photography and graphic design to paintings and pottery. The collection was unveiled at Thursday’s ArtShare Premiere to more than 150 attendees, including artists’ family and friends, area business leaders, school administrators and teachers.

“ArtShare is a recognition and celebration of our talented, local student-artists,” said Michele Starkenburg, Veridian’s branch manager. “We’re grateful to the students for allowing us to decorate our branch with their work. And by doing so, we’re sharing our appreciation for their work with our community.”

The Premiere was held in conjunction with an Ankeny Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours networking event. Veridian is planning similar ArtShare Premiere events for March 2 in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo and April 9 in Waverly.
