VanBeek appointed to CUES® Board of Directors

CUES is pleased to announce that Kris P. VanBeek, CCE, CIE, president/CEO of $1.2 billion USAlliance Federal Credit Union, Rye, N.Y., has accepted an appointment to serve on its board of directors.

“Kris is a great addition to the board,” said CUES’ chair Stephanie Sherrodd, CCE, president/CEO TDECU, Lake Jackson, Texas. “He is committed to talent development, a trait he has practiced both personally and professionally, and will serve CUES members well.”

Under VanBeek’s leadership, USAlliance’s earnings, loan growth, asset growth, and member growth have nearly tripled, accomplishments VanBeek achieved by capitalizing on the core strengths of the organization, as well as introducing system solutions and revitalizing the culture.

“I’m excited Kris will be joining us,” said John Pembroke, CUES’ president/CEO. “He has an innovative outlook, which he employed in achieving the great growth at USAlliance. He will be a real asset not only to the CUES board, but to our members, as well.”

“I enjoy anything related to leadership and personal growth,” said VanBeek. “CUES certainly fits that bill; they are known industry-wide as the leader in talent development. I’m looking forward to working with my fellow board members to help shape the future of this prestigious organization.”

Previously, VanBeek served as a senior vice president at Digital Federal Credit Union, where he was recognized as an “idea guy” and frequently involved in leading some of the organizations most progressive programs.

VanBeek will fill the remainder of the term left vacant by Chris McDonald, CCE, former president/CEO, Northwest Federal Credit Union, Herndon, Va., who recently resigned from the CUES board.

VanBeek holds a summa cum laude bachelor’s degree from Western New England University, Springfield, Mass.
