New “Credit Union Concierge” Open for Business
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (March 10, 2015) -- University Federal Credit Union is ushering in a new age of customer service and banking with its new Interactive Teller Machines (ITM), now open for business at the University of Utah’s George S. Eccles Student Life Center. University Federal Credit Union is the first financial institution in Utah to implement this innovative technology, which features the ease of automation paired with teller concierge service through real-time video.
The benefit of ITM technology is that it brings together personalized service with automation. Customers still have self-service convenience similar to an ATM, but with the assistance of a University Federal Credit Union teller. This allows for other complex transactions such as issuing cashier’s checks, making loan payments, ID verification, check cashing or other transactions and services that before could only be handled with a live teller. Before the ITM technology there were limitations and only certain transactions could be handled through the self-service channel. Now there are no limitations to providing remote assisted service quickly, conveniently and efficiently for University Federal Credit Union members.
ITMs also provide customers:
- Ability to communicate with a teller without visiting a branch location
- Faster, more efficient service if teller assistance is required at a machine
- Less room for error
- Full range of services and transactions in a self service environment
ITM service at the University of Utah Student Life Center will be available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
“With students on campus at all hours of the day, the University of Utah Student Life Center is the ideal place to implement our new ITM service,” said Jack Buttars, President and CEO of University Federal Credit Union. “We hope to expand our ITM service to several other branch locations in the coming months.”
ITM technology was created by Utah resident, Gene Pranger and is distributed by NCR Corporation.
Please contact Mary Rice at 801-557-2743 if you are interested in arranging a story or interview about this new technology. B-roll video of the University Credit Union’s ITM machine is also available upon request.
