In its annual rankings of “Best in State” credit unions, Forbes has named Unitus Community Credit Union the third best credit union in Oregon, up from fourth in 2023. Unitus is one of just 207 credit unions in the country to earn this honor.
Forbes partnered with market research firm, Statista, to survey 26,000 U.S. residents. Participants were asked to name all the banks and credit unions where they currently have—and previously had—a checking or savings account, and to identify financial institutions they know through the experiences of friends and family. Respondents were asked to share their level of satisfaction with the bank or credit union, and their willingness to recommend it to others, and to rate the organization on such criteria as customer service, the quality of financial advice offered by representatives, fee structures, the ease of navigating digital services and accessing help at branch locations, and the degree of trust the financial institutions inspired.
“We are honored to be named the third best credit union in Oregon by Forbes,” said Steven Stapp, President and CEO of Unitus Community Credit Union. “Receiving validation from our members makes our work even more meaningful. As we put the membership at the center of our decisions, it’s clear from this ranking that our members feel and appreciate that effort.”
Forbes and Statista also evaluated online text reviews and ratings posted between February 2021 and March 2024. These reviews and ratings accounted for 20% of the scoring, while the surveys accounted for 80%.
Unitus is one of four Oregon-based credit unions to earn the “best in state” ranking.
“This ranking is a testament to all of team Unitus. Every employee in our credit union is committed to delivering inspiring service and serving as a trusted financial partner,” explained Stapp. “The ‘best-in-state' honor affirms that our members can access what they need for every phase of their financial journeys. We couldn’t ask for a stronger vote of confidence.”
