United Heritage Credit Union announces the retirement of Karen Wilkerson, Vice President of Risk Management, after an incredible 40 years of dedicated service.
Karen's journey with the credit union began on September 19, 1983, as a Teller. Her talent and work ethic were quickly recognized, leading to promotions throughout her first decade, including roles in Collections, Visa coordination, Credit, and ultimately Credit Manager.
In 1997, Karen pivoted to a focus on compliance, becoming the Compliance Officer/Project Coordinator. Her commitment to ensuring adherence to regulations led to a well-deserved promotion in 2000 to Vice President of Policy & Compliance. In 2012, Karen's expertise broadened further with her appointment as Vice President of Risk Management.
Throughout her career, Karen has been a cornerstone of United Heritage. Her unparalleled knowledge of credit unions and the organization itself has been invaluable. Karen's reputation as the "go-to" person for all things compliance is a testament to her dedication and expertise. She will be dearly missed by her colleagues and the entire United Heritage team.
"Karen's contributions to United Heritage over the past 40 years have had a strong impact," said Michael Ver Schuur, CEO/President of United Heritage Credit Union. "From her early days as a Teller to her leadership in Risk Management, Karen has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to our members and our mission.
