United Heritage Charity Foundation Donates $25,000 to Local Austin Children’s Hospital

United Heritage Charity Foundation Gives $25,000 towards Dell Children’s Expansion

AUSTIN, Texas – United Heritage Charity Foundation recently donated $25,000 to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas through the Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas.  “We are most grateful to the United Heritage Charity Foundation for their generous support of Dell Children’s Building for the Future campaign.  Their generous gift will greatly enhance the care Dell Children’s provides its young patients.  We appreciate United Heritage Charity Foundation’s lead gift to this campaign as it will be matched by the Clarke Family Foundation,” expressed Maureen (Missy) Wood, Executive Director of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas.  The Clarke Family Foundation will match $1 for each $1 from the Charity Foundation’s donation towards the campaign for a combined total of $50,000.

The United Heritage Charity Foundation has distributed over $1.1 million since its inception in 2003 to support projects and organizations within local communities.  The Charity Foundation has supported Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas for many years and is excited to further the relationship with this considerable donation.

The donation will be put towards Dell Children’s current area of greatest need, the Building for the Future expansion project, which includes the Magnetoencephalography (MEG) brain mapping technology, a new piece of equipment that creates a 3-D map of brain activity through a non-invasive procedure to further serve children with epilepsy, brain tumors or traumatic injuries.  The MEG at Dell Children’s will be only the seventh at a pediatric hospital in the United States.  The expansion will also include a new 3-story tower with 72 new beds, which will increase their capacity to serve children with critical care needs, add and enhance key medical programs, and provide additional services and amenities for families.  The expected completion date of the much anticipated expansion is May of 2013.

The United Heritage Charity Foundation appreciates the mission of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas and Dell Children’s Medical Center and looks forward to seeing the installation of the new MEG technology and the completion of the expansion project in the upcoming year.  Chairman May Lofgreen explained, “The United Heritage Charity Foundation understands the importance of helping children and their families in their greatest times of need and believes strongly that this donation will be put to great use at Dell Children’s Medical Center for that purpose.”
