Underdog Philip “PT” Taylor Attempts to Overtake Robert Kiyosaki and Dave Ramsey in Go Banking Rates Poll to Find Most Popular Personal Finance Expert of 2012

As voting for the second annual 12 Days of Finance poll on www.GoBankingRates.com enters week three, Go Banking Rates readers continue voting for their favorite personal finance experts throughout the month of December while Philip Taylor, a 2012 first-time participant and underdog of the competition, looks to take the title of "Most Popular" away from last year's winner, Robert Kiyosaki.

EL SEGUNDO, CA, December 12, 2012: It’s often hard for those seeking assistance in their lives to take certain experts seriously, since many of those handing out advice can’t truly empathize with the struggles their audience is trying to work through. Luckily, in the realm of personal finance, there is a person to turn to who can provide trusted advice from a personal perspective and he's competing in the Go Banking Rates 12 Days of Finance Poll for title of "Most Popular" expert: Blogger and founder of the Financial Blogger Conference, Philip “PT” Taylor.

Go Banking Rates has pitted Taylor against 11 other world-renowned personal finance experts, including Suze Orman, Dave Ramsey and Clark Howard, to determine who readers consider to be the most important voice in the finance world. Each day, a financial guru is highlighted to give readers an overview of their background and financial philosophy. Readers can vote each day in December for their favorite finance expert, and Go Banking Rates will announce the winner January 1.

The "Anti-Expert"

Creator of PTMoney.com, a blog that focuses on making, saving and spending money wisely, Taylor prefers to keep his message positive, as well as teach by example. He explains, “money management is not about limiting your life, it’s about creating a limit-less life for you and your family. Personal finance advice can come across like a bunch of ‘don’ts’ if you forget to keep the big picture in perspective.”

That’s why Taylor enjoys sharing his advice alongside his own personal experiences, so that readers experience successes — as well as failures — right along with Taylor himself and “without the expectation for absolute perfection, or worse, ‘my way or the highway’ preaching. I’m a bit of an anti-expert in that regard.”

Credentials as a Top Expert

A contributing blogger to sites like TurboTax, ING, US News and the PerkStreet Financial blog, Taylor’s writing can be found in a number of remarkable publications. However, PT isn’t just another blogger (though his site does receive an impressive 400,000 visits per month); he has worked as a CPA, been a guest correspondent for both Fox Business’ Willis Report and MSNBC Saturday Morning, and not only founded, but runs the first and only conference for personal finance bloggers, best known as FinCon.

This is Taylor's first year participating in the 12 Days of Finance poll. Though many of his competitors are arguably bigger names in the personal finance world, Taylor boasts the support of the entire PF blogger community and could still rally a win within the next 20 days of voting.
