Hadley, MA – This year, UMassFive College Federal Credit Union staff beat their previous 2011 fundraising record for the UMass Medicine Walk to Cure Cancer, held in Worcester, MA. The credit union proudly reported a 219% increase over last year, with $8,121 raised as of the end of September.
The UMass Medicine Cancer Walk is the biggest fundraiser for the UMass Medicine Cancer Center of Excellence, a world class institution that funds cancer research and life-extending clinical trials of cutting edge procedures and treatments.
Many UMassFive employees fund-raised in honor of loved ones who were diagnosed with cancer, and in memory of loved ones who had been lost to Cancer.
The fundraising totals posted by UMassFive staff place the team as one of the top fundraising groups of the event.
