Tucson Federal Credit Union (TFCU) celebrated its annual Community Awards today with the presentation of $50,000 in grants to three Tucson-area nonprofits: ReSources Vail Food Bank, Iskashitaa Refugee Network, and Watershed Management Group.
The organizations were selected for their unique and transformative roles in addressing food insecurity, refugee resettlement, and environmental resilience in Southern Arizona. Each received a grant to support their continued efforts:
ReSources Vail Food Bank (Greater Vail Community Resources) received $20,000 to expand food access in rural and isolated areas around Vail, where they currently serve 650 families per month and are seeing a 33% monthly increase in demand.
Iskashitaa Refugee Network received $15,000 to support its culturally rich food recovery programs, connecting refugees from 49 ethnic backgrounds with local agriculture and teaching sustainable harvesting practices.
Watershed Management Group received $10,000 to continue its work on community education, water harvesting, and watershed restoration. Their message, delivered in both English and Navajo, emphasized “Water is life—hydro essence.”

TFCU Gives isn’t just about writing checks—it’s about creating connections between nonprofits, sparking collaboration, and lifting up underrepresented voices.”
The credit union’s annual Community Awards are part of its TFCU Gives program, which emphasizes Trust-Based Philanthropy—providing unrestricted funding so that organizations can allocate resources where they’re needed most.
TFCU’s support also signals a growing commitment to the Vail area, where the credit union plans to open a new branch in Fall 2025. The expansion reflects its focus on serving underbanked and underserved communities.
