TruHome Solutions™, a Credit Union Service Organization, provides effective mortgage solutions to community-driven credit union partners around the United States. As mortgage professionals, TruHome employees work hard every day to help members realize their home ownership dreams, but what about those who are less fortunate?
Over 100 TruHome employees, managers and executives participated in a Donate ‘N Dunk fundraiser to raise money for Mortgage Professionals Providing Hope (MPPH). Not only did they participate in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dunk fellow coworkers and management, but they also had the chance to dunk TruHome’s President, Doug Hoelscher.
An incredible $4,146.00 later, the organization housed four families who were either living on the streets, in their cars or in temporary shelters. With a little help and support, employees hope these families will be able to take control of their lives and have a better future.
Hoelscher said, “We were so grateful for the opportunity to support MPPH in the tremendous work they do. The Donate ‘N Dunk event gave our team a chance to have a lot of fun while helping families that are going through difficult times. Thanks to the entire MPPH team for letting us be a part of their mission.”
TruHome was able to support this cause thanks to MPPH, which is led by Dale Vermillion, Founder and Philanthropy Advocate. The organization’s mission is to provide mortgage companies and professionals with opportunities to help people and communities in need through sustainable aid and service projects.
Vermillion said, “We are so grateful for the generosity of the TruHome Solutions team! We were absolutely humbled to see TruHome employees give so generously, and for leadership’s willingness to get dunked to raise over $4,000 for families in need.” He said, “Thanks to this amazing company and event, several homeless families will now have a safe place to call home. We are thankful for TruHome’s partnership and for being a part of our force for good in the mortgage industry.”
In 2017 alone, MPPH programs helped:
- provide permanent housing to more than 40 families in need
- fund an early learning center for impoverished children in Guatemala
- renovate a run-down community center into a safe place for at-risk youth
- support the development of an emergency services center for women trafficked into the global sex trade
