DES MOINES, IA (July 24, 2013) -- The Members Group (TMG) wrapped up its 2013 Client Conference: Inspire. Innovate. Engage. event today at the Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, VT. Attendees from financial institutions across the United States participated in the three-day event, gaining new insights on industry topics like EMV, payment trends, regulatory compliance and data analytics.
“TMG’s annual Client Conference provides our clients actionable insights to guide their financial institutions’ growth and strategic plans over the coming year,” said Georgann Smith, TMG vice president of marketing. "Educational sessions are focused on strategies for serving consumers of the future, and our boundary-pushing activities build camaraderie among attendees.”
The goal of the conference’s first day was to “Inspire” TMG’s clients. Attendees participated in one of two activities — fly fishing or a golf outing — during the day and listened to a presentation by keynote speaker Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, that evening. Greenfield’s speech included his insight on the entrepreneurial spirit, social responsibility and radical business philosophy.
The theme of the second day of the conference was “Innovate.” Sessions included sponsored presentations on global consumer payment trends and the U.S. migration to EMV. A leader from TMG sister company PolicyWorks also shared thoughts on compliance through a consumer lens. Filene Research Institute hosted a session on trends in financial services innovation, as well as an interactive innovation lab. The day concluded with a sunset dinner cruise on Lake Champlain.
The final day of the event was designed to “Engage” conference participants. Morning sessions included keynote speaker Ken Segall sharing his thoughts on the obsession that drives Apple’s success. A presentation on intelligence and the use of data analytics followed. Wrapping up the day’s educational sessions, Steve Yastrow presented on developing profitable relationships with customers by cultivating a culture of “we” rather than “us vs. them.” Attendees then participated in a “Choose Your Adventure” afternoon of zip-lining or a Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream factory tour. The conference closed with a dinner event at The Cliff House atop Mount Mansfield.
This year’s conference sponsors included TMG’s strategic partners CO-OP Financial Services, CPI Card Group, First Data, FIS Global, MasterCard, and National Cooperative Bank (NCB). TMG plans to repeat this event again next year. The 2014 Client Conference is scheduled for July 14-16, 2014, at The Ritz-Carlton in Lake Tahoe, Calif.
