OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (April 25, 2024) |
Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU) announced today that board member Gary Wall retired April 6 at the annual shareholders’ meeting after 28 years of service to the credit union. Wall began his tenure with TFCU in 1978, when he was appointed as an alternate member of the credit committee. Over the years, he has served in every position on the board of directors.
Gary dedicated 28 years of his professional career with the U.S. Air Force in civil service, serving at Tinker Air Force Base as a physicist, engineer and engineering manager. His final role before retirement was as the chief engineer for the Air Force’s B-52 bomber fleet.
In addition to his Air Force tenure, he held adjunct faculty positions at Oklahoma City University as an management information systems instructor in their Master of Business Administration program and at Rose State College teaching introduction to engineering.
Wall names one of his greatest accomplishments during his years serving the TFCU board of directors as being a part of credit union advocacy. “This is a TFCU team effort that has made significant progress over the past few years in building relationships with our state and national legislators. This has benefitted our members and the credit union industry,” he said.
TFCU President and CEO Dave Willis said Wall has been an active board member for many years. “Gary Wall has served our trade association, Cornerstone, and been actively engaged with our advocacy and community support. Gary will be missed by TFCU and the credit union industry,” Willis said.
Going forward, Wall has high hopes for TFCU. “I look forward to seeing TFCU prioritize innovation, continuous growth, and the highest standards of member service, alongside the continued development of technology,” he said. “Such endeavors are aimed at reaffirming our steadfast dedication to serving our valued members with excellence.”
In his retirement, Wall hopes to put some miles on his motorhome traveling the U.S. and working on his antique cars. To learn more about Tinker Federal Credit Union, visit TinkerFCU.org.
