Galveston, TX (June 28, 2024) |
AMOCO Federal Credit Union proudly presented Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch, with the inaugural Servant’s Heart Award at their annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner held at the Galveston Railroad Museum on June 14, 2024. The prestigious award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to their community. The award itself was commissioned by Officer Randall Johnston of Cutting Edge Water Jet Services, Texas City.
Tim Miller founded Texas EquuSearch in 2000 following the tragic disappearance of his daughter, Laura Miller. The organization, which began as a small, grassroots effort, has grown into an internationally recognized search and recovery team. With the help of thousands of volunteers, Texas EquuSearch has successfully assisted in the recovery of hundreds of missing persons, providing closure and peace to countless families.
The Servant’s Heart Award was established by AMOCO to honor extraordinary individuals who embody the spirit of service and compassion. Tim Miller's unwavering commitment to helping others in their darkest hours made him the perfect recipient of this inaugural award.
In addition to presenting the award, AMOCO made a generous donation of $25,000 to Texas EquuSearch. This donation will be distributed over the next five years to support the organization's ongoing efforts in search and recovery missions.
"We are deeply honored to present Tim Miller with AMOCO’s first-ever Servant’s Heart Award," said Shawn Bailey, President & CEO of AMOCO Federal Credit Union. "Tim Miller is the embodiment of compassion, dedication, and community service; reminding us that in every search, there is hope, and in every heartache, there is resilience. We are proud to support their mission and hope this donation helps them continue their vital work."
The annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner was a night of gratitude, recognition, and inspiration, highlighting the incredible efforts and invaluable contributions of AMOCO’s volunteers, whose dedication and hard work are the backbone of the organization.
