On March 15th, 2019, Dover Federal Credit Union donated $1,588.95 to the Green Beret Project to support their efforts in addressing the negative influences and patterns affecting our area’s youth. This donation was made up entirely of funds collected by the employees of the Credit Union over the course of a month and then matched dollar for dollar by the organization. The Green Beret Project operates solely on funding from the personal savings of their volunteers, and charitable donations from businesses and individuals who believe in their mission. As this organization expands its services beyond Dover into Wilmington and New Castle County, Dover Federal urges others to provide aid and donate to their cause as their line of work is much needed in the state of Delaware.
The Green Beret Project is a volunteer initiative filled with talented individuals from a wide range of communities whose goal is to help the youth and improve the neighborhoods in which they reside. This initiative was started by Green Berets and law enforcement professionals and has since expanded to include volunteers such as active duty military, teachers, civic leaders, college students, and more. By identifying the needs of local communities, establishing relationships with its members, and simply spending time with them, the Green Beret Project aims to provide belonging, purpose and hope for their youth.
