SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 10, 2013) -- On Thursday, September 5, 2013, Tabitha Lewton accepted the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s 2013 Marketing and Business Development Professional of the Year Award, which took place during the Marketing and Business Development Conference and Leadership Conference and Expo in San Antonio.
It was an emotional day for Tabitha, but she kept it together when she received her new title and award. As the first business development representative hired at AMOCO in 2003, her contributions have helped establish the business development department to its current success. In attendance to support Tabitha were Stacey Gonzalez, Kevin Venable and Tina Foster from the Culture and Communications department; also, CEO Shawn Bailey and Vice President Gail Figueroa among other AMOCO employees.
Tabitha, while still surprised as she walked onto the stage, expressed that “going to work at a credit union was the best decision I ever made”. Her current position as Culture and Communication Specialist, in which she is responsible for marketing, business development and internal training, has helped shape her into a versatile professional she is today.
Tabitha’s win will mark AMOCO’s third time to have an employee receive this award; the only credit union in Texas to have this honor. Tina Foster was the first AMOCO employee to receive the award in 2007 and shortly after, Kevin Venable was professional of the year in 2010.
