Summit Credit Union Launches New Mobile Banking App

GREENSBORO, NC – Summit Credit Union will roll out its new Mobile Banking App on December 1, 2012, on both the iPhone® and Android® Market.

“We are excited to extend our services to members using mobile banking. Offering new technology to meet our member’s expectations is a top priority and we believe that our Mobile Banking App is a great addition to our financial services,” says Sam Whitehurst, President and CEO of Summit Credit Union.

Summit Credit Union’s Mobile Banking App allows credit union members the ability to access their account information and perform transactions simply by logging on to their Mobile Banking App. Members can manage all of their credit union accounts, check balances, transfer funds, and even deposit checks right from their phone by taking a front and back picture of the check.

Summit Credit Union is one of only a few financial institutions in the area that currently allow members to deposit checks from home using a scanner and an internet ready computer. Summit is now taking Remote Check Deposit one step into the future by allowing checks to be deposited using a Smartphone.

“The Mobile Banking App will now allow members to deposit checks on the go,” says Whitehurst. “It’s a great addition to our services and we expect members will agree.”

Chartered in 1935, Summit Credit Union is a full-service financial institution that offers a wide range of consumer financial products, including home loans, checking accounts, car loans, home banking, Visa credit cards, signature loans, and more.

Summit Credit Union positions itself as an employee benefit serving over 170 employers with roughly 24,000 members in North Carolina. Summit operates branch offices in Greensboro (2), Winston- Salem (2), Raleigh (2) and one in Hickory.
