HOUSTON, TX (July 2, 2013) The $53 million StarTrust Federal Credit Union merged with $122 million InvesTex Credit Union effective June 30, 2013. The post-merger combined organization is InvesTex Credit Union. This follows the NCUA’s and Texas Credit Union Department’s approval and a StarTrust membership vote in favor of the proposed merger. The combined credit union creates more than $175 million in assets, over 27,000 members, with six (6) locations in the Houston area. The main office is headquartered at 905 Aldine Bender, Houston, TX 77032.
“We are excited that the partnership with InvesTex Credit Union will bring many benefits including access to additional branch locations, hours of service and expanded product offerings – with the same friendly personalized and efficient service StarTrust members enjoyed for over 30 years” states Debra Weir, previous President of StarTrust FCU. The StarTrust branch location will be known as One Allen Center – Downtown Branch (500 Dallas St. Suite P-110, Houston, TX 77002).
Current CEO of InvesTex Credit Union, Keith Kearney, explains “although we are now officially one organization, the next step is to complete the Data Merge. This is when we convert all StarTrust accounts to the InvesTex System. Tentatively, the Data Merge is scheduled for September 30, 2013. Until then, StarTrust member transactions will continue to be processed on the StarTrust computer system. After the Data Merge, StarTrust members will have access to all InvesTex branches, products and services. We look forward to earning the trust and loyalty of all our StarTrust friends.”
