April 22 marks the 54th anniversary of Earth Day—an annual event that draws the world’s attention to the critical issue of environmental protection. In 2024, environmental protection is synonymous with climate change mitigation and resilience, something more and more credit unions are incorporating into their own internal practices and through the products and services they offer to members.
World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) welcomes credit union professionals from around the globe to join us on Earth Day 2024, as we examine the status of climate finance regulations and considerations internationally. We will also take a deep dive into how one credit union system in Brazil is boldly moving forward with solutions, while keeping an eye on climate risk, regulations and compliance at the national level.
This WOCCU virtual event will feature presentations from:
- Erin O’Hern, International Advocacy and Regulatory Counsel, WOCCU
- Clairton Walter, Executive Superintendent of Regulatory Affairs, Sicredi (Brazil)
- Romeo Balzan, Superintendent of Cooperatives and Sustainability, Sicredi (Brazil)
- Isaura Morel, Sustainability Manager, Sicredi (Brazil)
This webinar will feature both Spanish and Portuguese language interpretation.
