Sentinel Federal Credit Union announces new President & CEO

The Board of Directors of Sentinel Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Robbennolt of Rapid City, S.D., as the Credit Union’s new President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing Nancy Ellwein who is retiring after 31 years at Sentinel Federal and 18 years as President and CEO. The Board of Directors welcomes Keith with great enthusiasm and is convinced they have found a dynamic and engaging leader to guide Sentinel Federal into the future. Robbennolt shared, “I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to join and lead such an outstanding organization and build upon Sentinel Federal Credit Union’s success.”

Robbennolt is a seasoned executive, with his entire working career spent within the financial services industry. For over a decade Keith has held key leadership roles in the financial institutions he’s worked at. Keith held the position of Senior Vice President at Black Hills Community Bank in Rapid City and most recently, Senior Vice President at Security First Bank.

Keith is currently a Board member for the Black Hills Works Foundation and sits on the Finance Committee for this organization. He is active in the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce, along with many other community events. Keith served as a Board member of the United Way of the Black Hills and has served in many capacities in other community groups such as Habitat for Humanity and Special Olympics.

Ben Treadwell, Board Chairman said, “Keith’s active involvement in the community aligns well with Sentinel Federal Credit Union’s community commitment.”

Robbennolt is a graduate of Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colo., with a Business Administration degree with an emphasis on Marketing. He is also a graduate of The Stonier Graduate School of Banking, done in conjunction with The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and holds a Leadership Certificate from The Wharton School of Business.

Keith and his wife Shawna have three sons. As a family they love camping, hiking, and exploring everything the Black Hills has to offer. Keith enjoys being active in the community, attending many of his kids’ activities, playing golf, and listening to music on his vintage record player.

I look forward to leading an organization that exists to make a positive impact in the lives of our members and the communities we serve.”
