RALIEGH, NC (November 7, 2013) -- State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) members in the market for a new vehicle have extra convenience and flexibility thanks to a program implemented earlier this year – Auto Power. The program was created as an enhancement to the Credit Union’s pre-approval loan process, providing qualifying members with a blank check up to a specific dollar amount. With a check in hand, members have purchasing power at their fingertips, can shop dealerships at their leisure and make a vehicle purchase on the spot.
As a cooperative owned by its members, the Credit Union is constantly reviewing feedback and suggestions from member-owners on ways to improve products and services. Auto Power is another way for SECU to provide a better member car buying experience.
SECU member Molly Frogge recently took advantage of the program. “I loved the experience of the Auto Power Program! With the convenience of financing in hand, there was no pressure, which made me feel I had the advantage of negotiating a better purchase price. I also decided to proceed with the Credit Union loan because of the great member service I’ve always received.”
“We are pleased to have a program in place that gives members flexibility and bargaining power to help them make a deal on the vehicle that best suits their needs,” said Jerry Harmon, SECU’s Chief Lending Officer. “The Auto Power program is an excellent extension of our pre-approval lending process, and we are happy that members are finding the process simple and convenient.”
