GREENVILLE, SC (August 11, 2013) -- The Board and Staff of SC Telco Federal Credit Union in Greenville, SC, dedicated their “House of Dreams” project with Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County on Saturday, August 10, 2013. The credit union donated $31,000, and employees and members of the credit union raised the balance of the $62,000 needed to build the home. Over the past four months, SC Telco employees and Habitat construction volunteers have logged 1,050 hours working to complete the home.
Terri Hendrix, Community Relations Manager for SC Telco said, “ When we looked for a worthy organization to partner with, Habitat for Humanity was the perfect fit for us. We share the same philosophy of ‘giving a hand up’ to our neighbors who need affordable housing. We are so honored to have been a part of this build for the Looper Family.”
Habitat for Humanity President, Monroe Free, stated, “SC Telco employees undertook a large effort with this home build, and their willingness to extend themselves exemplifies their company’s community spirit.
