SAN DIEGO, CA (March 6, 2013) --San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, has announced it is sponsoring the inaugural RunEC, a half-marathon and 5K run/walk on St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday morning, March 17.
RunEC (Run East County) is part of a countywide St. Patrick’s Day celebration. RunEC is being organized by the RunEC Foundation, a non-profit that was a product of the East County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, Class of 2012. Organizers expect more than 2,000 runners will complete a course that begins and ends at Hooley’s restaurant in El Cajon’s Rancho San Diego area. Event proceeds will benefit the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce and several local non-profit organizations, including St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center, Partnerships with Industry, Stoney’s Kids, Home of Guiding Hands and the East County Transitional Living Center.
