Samantha Beeler appointed to Florida’s Statewide Council on Human Trafficking

TALLAHASSEE, FL (April 24, 2025) |

The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates is proud to announce that President Samantha Beeler has been appointed to serve as a member of the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking by the Office of the Attorney General. Her term began on April 21, 2025, and will run through June 30, 2028.

Beeler’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment, as The League recently partnered with the Florida Legislature to launch F.I.G.H.T. – Financial Institutions Against Human Trafficking – an initiative designed to unite credit unions, banks, law enforcement, and advocates in a shared mission to end trafficking.

“Human trafficking is a $236 billion industry that too often goes undetected in our communities, but it doesn’t have to,” said Samantha A.M. Beeler, President of The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates. “Financial institutions are uniquely positioned to detect and disrupt trafficking networks. Through partnering with local, state, and national stakeholders, we are deepening our commitment to being part of the solution. I thank Attorney General Uthmeier for this appointment and commend the State of Florida for their critical work on one of the most pressing human rights issues of our time.”

In her role on the Statewide Council, Beeler will serve as an advocate for credit unions, bringing their unique perspective to the table as the Council coordinates Florida’s statewide response and works to improve support services for survivors. Her appointment closely follows the filing of Senate Resolution 1880 by Senator Jonathan Martin, developed in collaboration with The League and key stakeholders, which calls for increased action and awareness throughout the state.

“The credit union movement has always been about people helping people,” Beeler added. “Now, we’re bringing that same spirit to the frontlines of the fight for human dignity and freedom.”
