Reliant Credit Union hosting 15th Annual Moore Than a Race 5K
SODUS, NY (August 23, 2024) — Runners of all ages are gearing up for Reliant Credit Union’s 15th Annual Moore than a Race 5K. The event will take place on Sunday, October 20, at 10:30am at the Reliant Credit Union branch in Sodus, NY. This beloved event honors the memory of Richard K. Moore, a past chairman of Reliant Credit Union’s board, and raises funds for the credit union’s scholarship program.
What started as an opportunity to remember Mr. Moore has evolved into a longstanding event that brings the Sodus community and the running community together year after year.
“Each year, we gather to cheer, volunteer, and run to honor Mr. Moore’s legacy and to invest in the future of our students. This race is a reminder of the positive change we can create when we unite for a common cause,” said Reliant President & CEO Pamela Heald. “We are excited to celebrate the 15th annual race and welcome people of all ages to participate in this special event.”
The race and the Donald K. Rhine Scholarship program are true reflections of the credit union’s “people helping people” philosophy. Proceeds from runner registration fees and sponsor funds are directed toward student scholarships. Since its inception, the race has raised over $147,500 to support Reliant’s scholarship program, which helps deserving students achieve their educational goals.
Race participants will enjoy a scenic route through the heart of apple country in Sodus, NY. Both runners and walkers are welcome to join in this celebration of community and education.
