Redwood Credit Union welcomes new business development manager

Eric Maldonado to oversee development of business and community group services, with concentration in San Francisco

Redwood Credit Union (RCU) has hired Eric Maldonado as business development manager.

In his new role, Maldonado will oversee RCU's team of business development officers who serve Marin, Napa and other communities in RCU's field of membership. His responsibilities include development of business and community group services in all of RCU’s local service areas, with a focus on San Francisco, an area of anticipated growth for the credit union.

Maldonado brings more than 10 years of credit union experience in public affairs, government relations, and business development. Prior to joining RCU, Maldonado was the community and government relations officer for Travis Credit Union, and was previously a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual Life. He also worked with the nonprofits Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) and AnewAmerica, helping clients make good financial decisions.

He is past chairman of the Mt. Diablo Chapter, California Credit Union League, past president of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Contra Costa County, past president of the Rotary Club of Concord-Diablo, former board member of STAND for Families Free of Violence, and former corporate advisor for the Richmond Community Foundation.

“Eric was born and raised in San Francisco and is active in the local business community,” said Dave Upham, senior vice president of member experience. “He’ll assist RCU in building deeper relationships between the credit union and the community that will help us better serve the unique financial needs of businesses and other groups in the city.”
