Raiz Federal Credit Union supports four years of impact and growth with the Underserved Communities Foundation

El Paso, TX (April 7, 2025) |

Raiz Federal Credit Union recently joined the Underserved Communities Foundation (UCF) in celebrating its fourth anniversary, a milestone marking four years of dedicated service to reduce poverty and create opportunity in the El Paso region.

As part of the celebration, Raiz presented a $200,000 donation to support UCF’s ongoing work. This contribution marks the fourth consecutive year Raiz has invested in UCF’s mission, beginning with the organization’s founding in 2021, when Raiz provided the initial seed funding that helped bring UCF’s vision to life.

UCF was established to address critical gaps in housing, food security, financial literacy, education, and employment—working to empower individuals and families to build self-sufficient futures. Through programs like Sweet Beginnings and Jacket for Kids, and more than $158,000 in grants awarded to local partners, UCF has significantly expanded its impact in underserved neighborhoods throughout the region.

“Raiz is proud to stand alongside UCF in its mission to create a stronger, more inclusive El Paso,” said Max Villaronga, President and CEO of Raiz Federal Credit Union. “UCF’s work aligns with our values of empowerment, equity, and community. By investing in their vision, we are investing in lasting, meaningful change.”

According to UCF Executive Director Diana Hasting, Raiz’s ongoing support has been instrumental for its growth. “Raiz Federal Credit Union has been with us since the beginning, not just as a funder but as a true partner. Their belief in our work has allowed us to expand our reach, deepen our services, and continue building programs that make a real difference in people’s lives.”

The anniversary event, held on April 2, 2025 at UCF’s offices, brought together supporters, community partners, and leaders to reflect on the foundation’s progress and share stories of impact. The evening served as both a celebration of achievements and a call to action to continue addressing the barriers that many in the community still face.

Raiz remains committed to advancing opportunities for underserved communities in El Paso and beyond—partnering with organizations like UCF to help individuals and families thrive.
