WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (July 19, 2013) -- Today, Purdue Federal Credit Union (Purdue Federal) presented a $4,300 check to Food Finders Food Bank, Inc., for its BackPack Program.
“Staff at Purdue Federal have a heart for helping others in our community,” said Vicki Sims, silent auction committee chair. “They generously donated $4,300 in the annual silent auction.”
The funds were raised during Purdue Federal’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day silent auction. Purdue Federal employees and local organizations donated 131 auction items, and employees’ winning bids brought in $4,300. All proceeds from this year’s auction benefit the Food Finders Food Bank’s BackPack Program, which ensures area children have something to eat between Friday afternoon and Monday morning by giving them a backpack filled with nutritious, non-perishable food.
Purdue Federal would like to thank the following organizations for donating items for this year’s auction: Arrowhead Bowling, Best Western, Follets, Lafayette Venetian Blind, Miracle Fitness, Monster Mini Golf, Orange Leaf, Robb Restyle, Stanley Steemer, The Hair Spa, Unique Auto Care and Tire, and Urban Swirl.
