Purdue Federal board member David Kish wins 2024 Leadership Achievement Award

WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (October 9, 2024) — David Kish, a current Purdue Federal Credit Union board member, has been awarded the 2024 Leadership Achievement Award by the Indiana Credit Union League. The announcement was made during the League’s Annual Convention on October 4, 2024.

The Leadership Achievement Award, formerly known as the Volunteer Achievement Award, was established in 1990 to acknowledge credit union volunteers who exemplify the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” and contribute significantly to advancing Indiana’s credit union movement. This accolade recognizes Kish’s unwavering commitment and dedication to the credit union ideals, as well as his active involvement in promoting these values at both the community and organizational levels.

Upon receiving this honor, Kish’s name will be added to a plaque displayed in the lobby of the League office, joining a distinguished list of past award recipients. This recognition underscores the significant impact he has had on his credit union and the broader Indiana credit union community.

The nomination and selection process for the Leadership Achievement Award is conducted by the Awards Committee or the League Board, which selects one recipient each year based on criteria related to credit union activities, volunteer work, and community service. Candidates for the award must meet strict criteria, including being in good standing in the community, actively promoting the credit union ideal, and demonstrating a commitment to education and training. They must also have a proven track record of enhancing the financial stability of their respective credit union and exhibit dedication to the organized credit union movement.

David Kish’s recognition reflects his exceptional leadership and dedication to the credit union community. Kish has been a Purdue Federal member for more than 30 years and he was appointed to the Board in 2014. In 10 years, he has served many roles, including previously serving as the Board Chair and Treasurer. He is currently the Director of Flex Lab and Kepner Laboratories in the College of Engineering at Purdue University.
