WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (July 2, 2024) — Purdue Federal Credit Union (Purdue Federal) is proud to announce the recipients of scholarships awarded to Ivy Tech Community College students for 2024. Two students at the Lafayette campus were awarded scholarships before the academic year. These scholarships aim to support the educational dreams of students and their families, providing essential financial aid to those pursuing their academic goals. By offering this support, Purdue Federal ensures that students can focus on their studies and achieve their academic and career aspirations without the added stress of financial constraints.
Mitchell Marume, a nursing student at Ivy Tech, expressed her deep appreciation for the scholarship, stating, “I am attending Ivy Tech with gratitude and taking every step because everyone is cheering me on.” Her words reflect the spirit of perseverance and community support that the scholarship embodies.
Raven Parker, another nursing student, shared her candid experiences, saying, “Nursing school will make you cry, but keep going because it’s worth it.” Her resilience and determination inspire aspiring nurses and underscore the importance of financial support in overcoming educational challenges.
In addition to these scholarships, Purdue Federal Credit Union has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at enhancing financial literacy and providing comprehensive support to Ivy Tech students, faculty, and staff. The Financial Vine program offers free resources and services, promoting financial wellness across Ivy Tech campuses in Lafayette, Lake County, and Michigan City, Indiana. Over the current three year term, Purdue Federal has given $22,500 in scholarships to Ivy Tech students at these campuses.
