For the third consecutive year, PSCU and loyalty program provider, Hinda Incentives, have partnered to sponsor a special sweepstakes event to reward seven lucky credit union members and a community cause with a ³grab-all-you-can-in-60-seconds² shopping cart dash. The event is set to take place on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Hinda¹s rewards redemption merchandise warehouse in Chicago, IL.
Credit union members from BCU (Vernon Hills, IL); Citadel Federal Credit Union (Exton, PA); Florida Credit Union (Gainesville, FL); Provident Credit Union (Redwood City, CA); Truity Federal Credit Union (Bartlesville, OK); First Financial Federal Credit Union (Wall, NJ); and MECU (Baltimore, MD) were selected in random drawings held over several weeks of the sweepstakes period. Members of credit unions enrolled in PSCU¹s CU Rewards loyalty programs registered their contact information on the CURewards® website and used their credit or debit cards in at least three purchases in any of the weeks between August 3 and October 25 to have their names entered into seven weekly drawings that took place from August 16 to October 25.
PSCU also awarded a place at the Magic Minute starting line to two employees of American Airlines Credit Union, a PSCU Owner credit union in Fort Worth, TX, that had the highest participation in the sweepstakes by its cardholders. The American Airlines dashers were able to choose a community initiative of their choice as the recipient of their shopping haul. They selected SafeHaven of Tarrant County. SafeHaven¹s mission is to end domestic violence through safety, support, prevention and social change. With two 24-hour emergency shelters, counseling, legal services, children¹s programs and more, SafeHaven helps women rebuild their lives and move from fear to freedom. The organization protected 674 women and 862 children in emergency shelter, and housed 264 women and children in its transitional living program in 2014 alone.
Each of the sweepstakes winners receives an all-expense-paid trip for two to Chicago and the opportunity to pile as much top-end merchandise as they can from the warehouse shelves into an oversized shopping cart in just 60 seconds. The average value of the haul collected by each of last year¹s credit union dashers was about $8,000 and included high-end items such as MacBook Airs, iPads, Canon EOS Rebel DSLR Cameras, Dyson vacuums, Dooney & Bourke designer handbags, 50-inch flat screen TVs and other goodies.
³The Magic Minute is all about the member and loyalty, in addition to being a fun way for credit unions to create awareness about their value and engage members,² said Annie Cox, Director of Credit Union Growth Solutions for PSCU. ³Credit unions regularly offer rewards and incentive programs to their members, and the Magic Minute is one way to encourage members to keep their credit union card top of wallet throughout the holiday shopping season.²
