Premier America’s financial wellness and community efforts recognized by national organizations

The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues and the National Association of Latino Credit Unions & Professionals (NLCUP) recently recognized team members of Premier America Credit Union for their community and financial inclusion efforts.

Premier America Credit Union is one of Los Angeles’ largest credit unions, with 19 branch locations in Los Angeles and Ventura County, and two locations in Houston, Texas, with a purpose of helping community residents meet today’s needs and reach tomorrow’s dreams through accessible financial products and resources.
At their recent annual conference, NLCUP recognized Alex Gallardo, VP, Community Impact & Financial Wellness, with their Community Award for his outstanding efforts with organizations that enhance financial wellness and provide economic empowerment opportunities to communities often left behind.
“Alex’s passion for community engagement and building strong partnerships has made a deep and measurable impact throughout our counties,” Rudy Pereira, President & CEO of Premier America, said. “By investing in our neighborhoods and empowering people, Alex and his team are helping create opportunity today and laying the foundation for a more prosperous and resilient tomorrow.”
NLCUP also presented their first ever Emerging Leader Award to Alfredo Martinez, Premier America’s Financial Inclusion & Education Officer.
“Financial education is the cornerstone of economic empowerment, and Alfredo (Martinez) has made a significant impact in the community since he joined Premier America,” said Marci Francisco, Chief Experience Officer at Premier America. “His work is about more than the 60+ workshops he has led in the last six months—it’s about giving people the power to create a stable, secure, and brighter future for themselves and their families.”
Martinez was also recently sent to Washington, D.C. via a NextGen Advocacy Grant from the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues. He and three other emerging leaders were chosen due to their dedication and commitment to advancing the credit union movement. In addition to his work with the credit union, Martinez also serves as vice chair of a local affordable housing provider and has been recognized as a “40 under 40” professional by Pacific Coast Business Times.

Alex Gallardo and Alfredo Martinez (l-r) accept their awards at the NLCUP Annual Conference in September.
