Columbine Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that on Friday, October 20th, 2023, the members of Porter Federal Credit Union overwhelmingly voted in favor of a merger with Columbine Federal Credit Union. With over 87% of the votes in favor of the merger, this outcome reflects the confidence Porter FCU members have in the proposed strategic vision of the credit union’s expanded financial offerings, improved member services, long-term sustainability, and community engagement.
"This merger is a historic day for both credit unions, as the Porter membership will benefit greatly from at least 16 new, expanded, and/or improved products and services,” said Arick Williams, President & CEO of Columbine. “We are very excited for the opportunity to modernize the member experience for 1,600 members that have supported and cared for their credit union since 1963.”
Both institutions have served their respective membership for more than 60 years. Columbine serves the greater Denver metro area as well as various select employer groups, including the employees of Arapahoe County, City of Littleton, South Suburban Parks and Recreation, and South Metro Fire Rescue. Porter has mostly served the employees of AdventHealth Porter Hospital in Denver, CO. Columbine is excited to reach the other hospitals and healthcare professionals within the Rocky Mountain Region of Adventist Health System. Combined, Columbine will have more than $80 million in total assets and serve more than 8,400 members.
Members of both credit unions can look forward to an expanded network of branches and increased access to ATMs. The merger will provide the Porter membership with enhanced digital banking services, a broader range of loan and deposit products, and access to financial advisors, education, and counseling services. There will be opportunities to engage in Columbine’s community development activities and support the Columbine Connects Foundation.
