People’s Credit Union announces recent board appointments

Adds Four New Directors: Two Members are Re-Elected

MIDDLETOWN, RI (September 24, 2024) — Peoples Credit Union recently elected several members to the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. Frank Newsome was appointed for a 2-year term (2023-2025), John Trifero was appointed to a 3-year term (2024-2027), Timothy J. DelGiudice was appointed for a 3-year term (2024-2027) and Steven Kozlowski, Ph.D., will serve a 1-year term (2024-2025). The membership also re-elected Edward Lopes, Jr. to a 3-year term on the Board of Directors and Michelle Freitas, CPA, to a three-year term on the Supervisory Committee.

Mr. Newsome is employed by the Newport School Department as a behavioral specialist at Rogers High School. He is also employed by Hazard’s Beach as a Manager. He graduated from Eckerd College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Sociology. Mr. Newsome was a former head football coach for Rogers High School, coaching for 24 years. He is also an active community volunteer in the City of Newport.

Mr. Trifero is currently employed as a Realtor with RE/MAX Professionals of Newport. He retired from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center as a Technical Project Manager for Network Engineering and IT Security. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Norman Bird Sanctuary, Innovate Newport, and as a Newport Hospital Corporator. He formerly served on the People’s Credit Union Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee, as Mayor of the City of Newport and, as a member of the City of Newport Planning Board. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics/Education from Providence College.

Mr. DelGiudice is a member of the RTX (Raytheon) Government Relations team and Site Leader of Raytheon’s Portsmouth, RI site. He also serves as the Chairman of the SENEDIA Board of Directors and as a member of the New England Council, Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council (RIPEC), and the Undersea Technologies Innovation Consortium (UTIC) Board of Directors.

Dr. Kozlowski is an Associate Professor of Finance at Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business. He teaches Investments at the undergraduate level and Research Methods in Finance at the graduate level. Before pursuing a position in academia, he worked as a district examiner for the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
