PenAir awards six high school seniors who are committed to serving others with college scholarships

PenAir Credit Union (PenAir) announces six scholarships to Northwest Florida and South Alabama high school seniors. Scholarships are awarded to student members based on the student’s academic performance and passion for helping others.

The 2024 PenAir scholarship winners include:

  • Chloe Biggs – Tate High School in Cantonment, Fla.
  • Ashlyn Greeson – Tate High School in Cantonment, Fla.
  • Ashton Lakey – Sea Pines Academy in Port St. Joe, Fla.
  • Sebastian Funk – Niceville High School in Niceville, Fla.
  • Olivia Ryan – Robertsdale High School in Robertsdale, Ala.
  • Abigail Glass – Robertsdale High School in Robertsdale, Ala.

The PenAir Scholarship Program helps PenAir student members, who have a passion for helping others, pursue a post-secondary education toward an undergraduate or associate degree or trade certification. From its inception in 2010 through 2023, $219,000 in scholarships have been awarded to local graduating high school seniors.

“Circumstances surrounding the last few years have been extremely challenging for high school students, and these scholarship recipients have tackled adversity at every turn,” says Casey Brueske, Community Education Development Specialist. “As we read the 2024 applications, we were extremely moved by their enthusiasm, goals, and commitment to their fellow classmates and community. At PenAir Credit Union, we are happy to play a role in their future success.”

PenAir will pay up to $1,250 per semester (Fall and Spring Semesters only) toward tuition, fees, and supplies to attend school. The scholarship will equal the cost billed by the school for each semester or $1,250, whichever is less, for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Learn more at penair.org/Scholarships.
