Park Community Credit Union, Kentucky’s largest Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Credit Union, and Simmons College of Kentucky, Kentucky’s first Historically Black College University (HBCU) have formalized a ten-year partnership to amplify the impact of both mission-aligned organizations to foster a shared sense of belonging and lasting, positive change within the community.
Together, Simmons College and Park Community Credit Union aim to empower our community, fuel the dreams of students and community members, and cultivate a deeper sense of belonging for all involved. The key initiatives of the partnership include financial education programs to equip students with essential financial skills, collaborative career outreach to expand professional opportunities, joint outreach programs, student internships, and faculty collaborations.

Unique programs like the Second Chance Pell Program and Executive Leadership Academy provide opportunities for individuals to thrive and give back to their community. Creating access to a high-quality secondary education in addition to financial education and career outreach programs will attract students to come to this region and stay.
