Over $460,000 has been donated to local Connecticut non-profits from American Eagle Financial Credit Union’s Cash Back Program

This quarter’s recipients, Friends of Camp Neipsic, Save All Dogs and North Haven Historical Society will each receive $9,598

EAST HARTFORD, CT (August 19, 2024) — American Eagle Financial Credit Union (American Eagle FCU) announced the local organizations that are the most recent recipients of the Cash Back to the Community Program. This program has been running since 2020 and has donated over $460,000 to local organizations dedicated to improving their communities in Connecticut.

Community members, not just American Eagle FCU members, can nominate organizations within American Eagle FCU’s service area. From there the nominations are reviewed and posted for community members to vote on who will receive the funds each quarter.

In this round of the Cash Back Program, community members’ first organization to receive $9,598 is Friends of Camp Neipsic. Since 2014, the Friends of Camp Neipsic’s mission has been simple, to preserve and promote open space for youth to engage in outdoor activities in Glastonbury, CT.

“The Friends of Camp Neipsic, Inc. extends gratitude to American Eagle FCU for providing the single largest monetary donation in its history,” said Kenneth Kulo, President of The Friends of Camp Neipsic, Inc. “American Eagle FCU’s support will have a lasting impact by helping to ensure we meet our longterm goals, which include driveway improvements, modernized privy construction, and pavilion creation.”

Save All Dogs is the next recipient in this round of Cash Back to the Community. The organization has been rescuing, caring and finding forever homes for unwanted, homeless and abandoned dogs and cats since 2012.

“We are super appreciative to have received this grant,” said Erin Munroe, President of Save All Dogs. “This will help us with renovations, vet care and healthy food for our amazing rescued animals!”

The final organization receiving funding this quarter is the North Haven Historical Society (NHHS). The NHHS mission works on Building for the future on the foundations of our past and the money received from American Eagle FCU is going towards creating a permanent Quinnipiac Indian exhibit.

“The North Haven Historical Society is profoundly grateful for the support of the American Eagle Financial Credit Union,” said Susan Iverson, Executive Director of the NHHS. “The funds will enable us to create a permanent exhibit using our collection of artifacts from North Haven’s First Inhabitants, the Quinnipiac People. This exhibit has been carefully curated by archaeology students and it needs to be housed appropriately. Thanks to this funding, this project can now move forward.”

“Organizations like these Cash Back recipients are why we are so focused on giving back to our communities,” said Howard Brady, President & CEO of American Eagle Financial Credit Union. “Our program allows us to support local organizations with missions impacting all of our members and communities. It is an honor to support them.”

The voting period for the next quarterly round of Cash Back is open from September 9th until September 22nd! American Eagle members and the public can vote for the organization by visiting

Heaton Field was a landmark for the town as many of the townspeople built the field and stadium. The dedication included installing a “home plate” marker where the original home plate once was. The baseball exhibit was part of the dedication.
