OnPoint Community Credit Union doubles down on Portland business district

Oregon’s largest credit union adds new branch, Invests in heart of hometown

PORTLAND, OR (April 9, 2025) |

OnPoint Community Credit Union, today announced it has signed a lease at  707 SW Washington Street in the heart of downtown Portland’s business district. The WiredScore Certified  Platinum building will house a new OnPoint branch with OnPoint’s newly expanded commercial, nonprofit, and  small business banking teams.

“Portland is our home. We were founded right here,” said Rob Stuart, president and CEO, OnPoint Community Credit Union. “The expansion of our commercial and business lines into the downtown core is a strategic investment, underscoring our commitment to our members and community.”

The move comes at a key moment in the Rose City’s economic recovery. Data show the confidence many business owners have in the downtown core turned the corner from 2023 to 20241, with signs pointing toward improved safety, and more foot traffic.

“Portland and all of Oregon are open for business,” said Oregon Governor Tina Kotek. “OnPoint’s expansion into the heart of downtown is a nod to its roots in this city, and an indicator of Portland’s steady progress. I look forward to seeing the  positive impact OnPoint will have on its neighbors.”

“OnPoint’s expansion into the heart of our business district is a  reflection of the optimism and momentum we see every day,” said  Mayor Wilson,

City of Portland. “We applaud OnPoint’s commitment to Portland,  recognition of the innovation, confidence, and capability that defines  our community, and the catalyst they’ve created for others to follow.”

“Along with our partners, the Goodman family, we are thrilled to  welcome OnPoint,” said Jim Mark, CEO of Melvin Mark Companies.  “Their expansion reinforces our continued optimism for the future of  downtown Portland and the overall business community.”

“As OnPoint’s reputation for exceptional service grows, we are seeing more members in the business and nonprofit  communities joining our membership. This new location will allow us to serve more of their needs through a robust,  consultative approach to banking,” shared Bob Harding, chief commercial officer, OnPoint Community Credit  Union.
