The OnPoint Community Credit Union Celebrity Spelling Bee raises funds for Schoolhouse Supplies’ Free Store for Teachers
PORTLAND, Ore., January 8, 2013— OnPoint Community Credit Union has announced its title sponsorship of the OnPoint Community Credit Union Celebrity Spelling Bee. The Spelling Bee, a signature fundraiser of the nonprofit Schoolhouse Supplies, will raise funds to support the Free Store for Teachers—which has provided $16.7 million worth of free school supplies to local classrooms in need.
This year’s Celebrity Spelling Bee will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Portland Art Museum from 5pm to 9pm. Celebrities include 2012 Spelling Bee Winner and actress Pat Jankowski, John Erikson from K103, Dave Dahl, president and co-founder of Dave’s Killer Bread, Zia Mccabe of The Dandy Warhols, and Mayor Charlie Hales. Judges include celebrity journalist Byron Beck and the Portland Timber’s own Timber Joey.
