Ongoing Operations’ Planning Team Expands Crisis Communications Expertise

Hagerstown, MD (October 7, 2011) –Ongoing Operations, the leading provider of business continuity & disaster recovery solutions to credit unions, recently congratulated two of its business continuity professionals on achieving their official Crisis Communications Planner certification.

“Tim Daugherty and Michele Dowis have worked in close partnership with our credit union clients for years and we’re pleased to recognize them for their latest achievement,” said Don Stewart, Director of Professional Services for Ongoing Operations. “They understand the need for a strong crisis communications plan and have witnessed the dramatic impact effective communication can have during and after an actual disaster.”

The Crisis Communications Planner (CCP) designation was received from The International Consortium for Organizational Resilience (ICOR), a not-for-profit education and credentialing organization that provides professional development, certification, thought-leadership, and the latest in research and industry trends.

Credit unions are required to have a crisis communications plan in place and Ongoing Operations now has more experts ready to assist them with plan development, testing and continuous improvement. A Crisis Management Notification System (CMNS) is also available to help clients get their message out quickly to members, employees and Board of Directors through email, voice, and text messages.

The Ongoing Operations CUSO recently celebrated its fifth anniversary and has expanded to four facilities strategically located in Hagerstown, Maryland; Middletown, Virginia; Phoenix, Arizona; and Longmont, Colorado.
