LAS VEGAS, NV (March 5, 2024) |
One Nevada Credit Union has named Robert Kraus Vice President of Commercial Lending. Robert joined One Nevada in 2014 as a Commercial Credit Analyst before progressing to Portfolio Manager and then to Assistant Vice President/Senior Credit Analyst.
After a 46-year career in financial services, Sandy Thompson, One Nevada’s previous Vice President of Commercial Lending, announced his retirement. “We’d like to thank Sandy for building an extremely strong and responsive commercial lending team,” says Paul Parrish, President/CEO of One Nevada. “His leadership and mentorship over the past 12 years have set the stage for a smooth and seamless transition.”
Robert began his career in the casino industry as a teenager before joining the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he assisted students with disabilities for six years. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from UNLV. Robert interned with Marcus & Millichap and worked in gaming audit and accounting for three years before joining One Nevada. He also held a Nevada real estate license, successfully closing several residential transactions.
“I’m looking forward to carrying Sandy’s vast legacy forward and providing the same great service borrowers and brokers have come to expect from One Nevada,” says Robert Kraus, Vice President of Commercial Lending for One Nevada. “I enjoy assisting others and solving problems and love that no two deals are the same in commercial lending. Each deal brings new challenges to overcome, opportunities to learn, and relationships to establish. Plus, you get to hear some fantastic stories!”
Raised in a Navy household, Robert was born in Connecticut but grew up in several areas of California before moving to Las Vegas to be closer to extended family. He’s married to his high school sweetheart, and the couple has two children. In Robert’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his extended family, coaching his kids in soccer and flag football, golfing, and following NFL & NCAA football.
