JOLIET, IL (September 24, 2024) — NuMark Credit Union, a financial cooperative that serves the Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana, celebrated its 70th Anniversary with a variety of special, limited-time promotions and givebacks to the community and its members. The credit union is proud to be a supporter of its surrounding communities, and to have helped members do more with their money for 70 years.
The celebration officially began on August 23 with decorated lobbies, free special edition merch for members, and a Spin-the-Wheel Giveaway for members to try for a $100 gift basket with more goodies and a $50 gift card. NuMark didn’t want to limit the celebration to just one day, so they also had several other specials for members to choose from.
“I’m proud to have been working in the credit union world for over 30 years now” said Lloyd Fredendall, CEO of NuMark. “Credit unions are such a unique type of institution that not a lot of people are aware of or know how they differ from big banks. NuMark employees work hard to make sure they’re providing our members with top-notch financial assistance and knowledge, and we’re immensely grateful for the continued loyalty and support from our members.”
The organization offered two Auto Loan specials to choose from, as well as two Personal Loan options, free mortgage appraisals, and gave $70 to each member who opened a new active free checking account. The offers started on the first day of the celebration and will run until the end of September. They also had a limited-time CD/IRA special thank you to its members, which many took advantage of but is no longer available.
NuMark wanted to offer these specials to current members of the credit union, as well as community members interested in their products and services, to get the community involved in the celebration. The organization also thought it was a great way to give back to the surrounding communities.
“NuMark is incredibly happy to be celebrating 70 years of serving our members and our communities,” said Michelle Balog, NuMark’s President. “We wouldn’t be where we are without them, which is why we focus so much on giving back. Not only giving back to our members, but through community outreach with fundraising and volunteer events.”
As a credit union that believes in the importance of people helping people and supporting one another, NuMark also wanted to give back to the community in a bigger way. That’s why the credit union chose to donate $1,000 each to seven local charities. The local charities that received a donation from NuMark were the Northern Illinois Food Bank, Greater Chicago Food Depository, Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, St. James Food Pantry, the Bridge Teen Center, Wreaths Across America, and Honor Flight.
NuMark is grateful to its employees, members and surrounding communities for allowing it to be a part of their lives for the past 70 years. The organization is proud to be a part of the Chicagoland area and is looking forward to many more years of supporting the community and providing financial resources and assistance to those living in it.
