Northeast Credit Union rebrands to Lighthouse Credit Union and converts charter from state to federal
The charter conversion will allow the newly branded Credit Union to serve more members and expand community reach.
PORTSMOUTH, NH (September 11, 2024) — Northeast Credit Union has officially rebranded to Lighthouse Credit Union and converted its charter status from state to federal. This expansion enables Lighthouse Credit Union to enrich and nourish the lives of others in new communities and create more impact for the members they serve. The charter change was put forth by the Board of Directors and decided upon by a member vote on June 20, 2024. The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) has granted final approval and Lighthouse commenced operations under a federal charter on August 26, 2024.

The essence of a lighthouse conveys guidance and direction, serving as a beacon for navigational aid – strong principles that the credit union will use to serve its members. Under the new brand promise, “Good for you, good for all,” Lighthouse Credit Union will progress toward its goal of inspiring the world to bank with a purpose and illuminate pathways toward financial well-being for members and community partners.
Members will experience minimal impact through these changes. The brand and charter change will not affect member accounts, whether deposits or loans, and funds remain federally insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), operated and managed by the NCUA.
