Nine new Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor designees named at school in June

MADISON, WI (July 24, 2014) — CUNA is proud to announce that nine credit union professionals earned their Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation at this June’s CUNA Certified Financial Counselor School. The designations were awarded to attendees who successfully completed Part 2 of the school on-site, bringing the total number of CCUFC designees nationwide to 2,175.

New Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designees:
Ariane Aughenbaugh, Franklin-Oil Region CU
Janine Bethel, Grand Bahama Co-op Credit Union Ltd
Michelle Bryant, Blue Eagle CU
Jamie Fatheree, American Airlines FCU
Kimberly Gaines, Pelican State CU
Sandra Gladney, American Airlines FCU
Crystal Jepsen, North Star Community CU
Heather Smith, Credit Union One Inc
Cheryl Welles, Empower FCU

“The training provides great skills whether you are a loan officer, or a counselor.  Even if you have been counseling for a while, you learn things you didn’t know or hadn’t thought of before. The program gave me a network of other counselors to bounce ideas off of and share what works,” stated new CCUFC designee Jamie Fatheree of American Airlines Federal Credit Union.

The CCUFC designation recognizes crucial skills in credit union counseling professionals that they will use to help their members through current and future financial situations, developed in this case through informative sessions, face-to-face discussions with financial counseling experts and a live on-site simulation.

In addition to the on-site school, the CCUFC designation can also be earned by successfully completing Parts 1 and 2 via CUNA Certified Financial Counselor eSchool or CUNA Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP).

CUNA congratulates those who earned their CCUFC designation this June for their expertise and dedication to helping their members thrive financially.
