Filene Research Institute is proud to announce the 2025 Think Tank Roster, featuring an influential group of 42 CEOs and senior executives dedicated to advancing the credit union movement.
The esteemed group of new and continuing Think Tank members will leverage their collective expertise and insights to address strategic challenges and opportunities within the credit union industry, ultimately enhancing consumers’ financial lives.
“I’m thrilled to introduce our 2025 Think Tank cohort. Each one was chosen for their wealth of knowledge, unique perspectives, and passion for making credit unions stronger,” said Filene’s Executive Vice President, Christie Kimbell. “The goal of the Think Tank over the next 12 months is to identify the most important challenges and opportunities that are facing credit unions and identify actions—even if they are small steps—to move the industry forward.”
Serving as one arm of Filene’s Research and Incubation Advisory Council alongside the prestigious Inner Circle, the 2025 Think Tank will discuss and explore critical industry topics. Initial discussions will focus on credit unions’ strategic focus areas including member growth strategies, identifying new sources of revenue, and navigating the evolving regulatory environment examining its implications, opportunities, and risks.
"Filene's Think Tank offers an incredible opportunity to gain valuable insights and build connections that help our credit union advance key strategies. The collaborative environment and access to top-tier research enable us to stay ahead of industry trends and implement innovative solutions,” said Kevin Martin, EVP, Strategic Integration and Member Experience at SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union. “Together, the group can leverage collective knowledge and expertise to navigate challenges more effectively and drive all our organizations forward. The support and resources from Filene empower us to make informed decisions that advance our mission and ensure our long-term success."
Filene’s Think Tank will help make industry research more actionable by giving feedback and suggesting new areas to explore. It also creates a network for connecting with peers, researchers, and top experts both inside and outside the credit union industry.
"I am honored to be part of Filene's Think Tank and contribute to the collective effort of advancing the credit union industry. With innovative research and actionable solutions, we are able to address the most pressing challenges and seize opportunities for growth,” said Mirella Reznic, President & CEO, Farmers Insurance Federal Credit Union. “For my organization, being part of this esteemed group means access to cutting-edge insights and the ability to implement strategies that enhance our mission and goals. I am excited to work alongside such passionate and knowledgeable leaders to drive positive change and ensure the continued relevance and success of credit unions."
The 2025 Think Tank will continue to guide, activate, connect, and champion Filene’s research and incubation agenda to enhance impact and support growth through monthly discussions with Filene’s research team and fellows throughout the year. These insights will shape the work Filene produces.
“The innovative research and solutions that come from our Filene Think Tank discussions enable credit unions to tackle critical challenges and advance key growth opportunities. For our credit union, being part of this distinguished group provides us access to advanced insights and the ability to implement strategies that align with our mission and purpose,” said Chris Mulkey, Vice President of Consumer Lending, Wright-Patt Credit Union. “I am eager to collaborate with such dedicated and knowledgeable leaders as we ‘think forward’ and inspire new ideas for the industry."
