New officers and directors to serve on the Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation’s board

PA, HARRISBURG (June 3, 2019) — The Pennsylvania Credit Union Foundation is pleased to announce that Jeff DeBree, CEO of Penn East Federal Credit Union has been appointed as Board Chairman and Michael Vatter, CEO First Choice Federal Credit Union has been appointed Secretary. Board Vice-Chairman David Whitehead, CEO, Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union and Treasurer John Murga, CEO, Hidden River Credit Union, will continue in their respective offices.

Sandi Carangi, Joseph Marchese, Tim McLeod, and Amanda Wagner have been appointed to replace Amy Lichwa, CEO of Norwin Teachers Federal Credit Union, and Jeff Albert, CEO of People First Federal Credit Union, whose terms expired, and vacancies left from the resignations of April Dunn and Louise Lingenfelser.

New board member Sandi Carangi is the CEO of Mercer County Community Federal Credit Union. She has twenty years of credit union experience, serves on numerous boards and has served as a speaker, author, panelist, and presenter of podcasts, webinars and videos for NCUA, CUNA, World Council of Credit Unions, Credit Union Magazine, and the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association.

Joseph Marchese is the President/CEO of Hershey Federal Credit Union. Joe loves the community involvement of working with financial services, and particularly with credit unions. Joe has held several positions with Fulton Bank, then with Member Business Financial Services, and Ephrata National Bank before taking over as CEO at Hershey Federal Credit Union in March of 2019.

Tim McLeod is the President and CEO of Riverfront Federal Credit Union, bringing 25 years in the financial industry to the board, beginning as a Military Pay Clear/Accounting Analyst with the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of Noncommissioned Officer. His civilian career began at NCUA, then on to a credit union in Mississippi, where he moved up through the ranks over a 14-year period. Tim has served as President and CEO of Riverfront since February 2014.

MSR/Operations Amanda Wagner will represent the Young Professionals Network on the Foundation’s Board. A lifelong member of Norwin Teachers’ Federal Credit Union, Mandy began as part time teller, and has, over the past ten years, worked at all aspects of the credit union. She has a passion for financial literacy, is a member of the Greensburg Chapter of Credit Unions Board of Directors, is a Fellow in the Foundation’s Credit Union Executive Leadership Program, and was awarded the 2019 Harvard School of Business Online Financial Accounting Cohort.
