Nearly 7,000 Providence Hospital workers in Oregon receive donated food from Providence Federal Credit Union

PORTLAND, OR (April 24, 2020) — Hospital staff at Providence Hospital facilities throughout Oregon received a welcome surprise when Providence Federal Credit Union (Providence FCU) sponsored the delivery of free snack bags to thousands of caregivers over the past few weeks. The sponsorship made it possible for the Providence Nutrition Departments at each location to order, package and deliver 677 snack bags reaching approximately 6,925 hospital staff working during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I had one caregiver cry because she was overwhelmed by the generosity. Another teared up, held her hand to her heart and said I love the credit union. To say Providence FCU’s generosity was felt deeply is an understatement,” a hospital worker told Providence FCU.

“The brave caregivers who are labouring so hard to help their communities during these unprecedented times deserve our heartfelt thanks and support,” said Providence FCU President and CEO Shirley Cate. “Through this initiative we were able to show our gratitude for their efforts and show support to all caregivers. The Nutrition Departments at each location were instrumental in making this happen for them.

Hospital staff in all departments at Providence Portland Medical Center, St Vincent Hospital, Milwaukie Hospital, Willamette Falls Hospital, Newberg Hospital, Seaside Hospital, Hood River Hospital and Medford Medical Center received donated snack bags from Providence FCU.
