Better Design, Easier Navigation, More Features Enhance Consumer Online Experience
The newly designed websites—MyCreditUnion.gov and the financial literacy microsite Pocket Cents—are more user-friendly and provide consumers with access to more information.
Chairman Matz’s video, Your Financial Future Is Brighter With Savings, is another part of NCUA’s ongoing efforts to better educate consumers and is available here.
“We’ve made two valuable consumer tools better,” NCUA Board Chairman Debbie Matz said. “Financial education is a lifelong process, from teaching young people sound savings habits to helping adults plan for retirement. MyCreditUnion.gov and Pocket Cents provide consumers with the information needed make better financial decisions for their lifestyles and goals. I hope consumers will regularly use this information now available on both our consumer and financial literacy websites.
“Our latest NCUA Consumer Report video is aimed at reminding consumers about the importance of developing and keeping good savings habits,” Matz added. “That’s an important step towards building a solid financial future.”
New or updated information on MyCreditUnion.gov includes topics like:
- Credit reports and credit scores
- Preventing identity theft
- Buying a car
- Avoiding frauds and scams
On Pocket Cents, there is new financial literacy information on subjects like:
- Financial resources for service members, parents and educators
- Renting versus buying a home
- Financial tips for seniors, teens and tweens
- Reverse mortgages
Pocket Cents uses interactive elements and stylish infographics to supplement written articles on topics like credit reporting and reading a bank or credit card statement.
