Las Vegas, NV (April 16, 2025) |
National Association of Credit Union Service Organizations (NACUSO) crowned Goodbuy as the 2025 Next Big Idea Competition winner today at Reimagine Conference at the Wynn, Las Vegas. The annual competition celebrates innovation, collaboration, and game-changing ideas that are shaping the future of the credit union industry.
Each finalist had eight minutes to pitch their solution to a live audience of 500+ credit union industry leaders, followed by a Q&A session in front of a panel. Goodbuy earned 33% of the audience vote.
“Goodbuy’s member-focused solution emerged as this year's winner for its potential to increase business deposits while supporting small businesses,” said Miriam Ackerman, Acting CEO of NACUSO. “Through The Next Big Idea Competition, NACUSO is thrilled to support creative solutions that propel the credit union ecosystem.”
“Forty-six percent of the workforce own or are employed by a small business, but only four percent bank with a credit union,” said Cara Oppenheimer, Co-Founder and CEO of Goodbuy. “We passionately believe small businesses are not just a growth opportunity for credit unions—they are a high-value, mission-aligned one. We are grateful to be recognized by an industry we greatly respect, and whose ethos of cooperation aligns with ours.”
Scamnetic took second place for their solution designed to help detect scams in real-time. In third place was Coverbase, focusing on improving the vendor due-diligence process.
Special recognition goes out to the additional three finalists: cheXray, Metallicus and Traduality.
Sponsored by Velera, this competition offers $10,000 in cash prizes, plus new enhancements like coaching, mentorship, and promotional opportunities—giving participants critical tools to accelerate their growth and industry engagement.
